Milo Fantails Programme
Programme Details
Fantails is a NZ Football programme designed to introduce girls aged 4-10 to the excitement of football—no prior experience needed! Whether they're brand new to the sport or already involved in other activities, this programme offers a fun and welcoming environment where they can make friends, build confidence, develop skills, and stay active.

What is the Cost?
The cost is $40 for the term, which includes 8 sessions.
Dates and Times?
The 2025 programme will start in Term 2 on Monday, 28th of April and will run for 8 weeks, the session details are below:

My daughter is really nervous and has never played football before, can she attend Fantails?
Definitely! This programme is perfect for her. We believe that football is for everyone and want to ensure that every girl has an opportunity to take part and has a great experience.
Is there an equivalent boys programme?
MILO Fantails was developed to target female participants as currently only 1 in 5 players playing football in NZ are female. Onehunga Mangere United AFC offer a number of boys and mixed football options. Please see the other Teams pages or email juniorandyouth@omuafc.org.nz for further information.
What do you wear to a MILO Fantails session?
Can she bring a friend to a MILO Fantail's session?
Absolutely! We welcome all new girls to participate.
Who runs the MILO Fantails sessions?
The programme will be headed up by Rose Pham, who plays for our Women's First Team and is also on the club committee.
Principles of the Fantails programme
Boost Confidence
MILO Fantails sessions are a safe environment where girls are able to be themselves, try new things, and boost their confidence.
Friendships
MILO Fantails is a great place for young girls to make new friends and we want to help foster and grow these new relationships.
Fun and Enjoyment
Learning about football and futsal through fun and engaging activities is at the heart of every MILO Fantails session.
Female Role Models
Having female role models to look up to and aspire to will support young girls reaching their potential in sport and life.
Develop Life Skills
MILO Fantails aims to help young people develop life skills such as respecting others, having a positive attitude, and overcoming challenges.
Improve Skills & Movement
The programme gives opportunities for girls to move and play - exploring the 11+ Kids fundamental movements.
